Hyatt Legal Plans Most Utilized Services of 2018

CLEVELAND, May 6, 2019 – In 2018, members saw our network attorneys for a wide range of personal legal issues from estate planning to debt and traffic issues. As in previous years, the most common legal issue members sought help for was estate planning, with Power of Attorney, Wills and Living Wills, topping the list of most utilized services.

The Top 5 most utilized services were:

  1. Powers of Attorney (21%) – Members can see attorneys to have them draft financial or healthcare power of attorney documents. These documents allow them to designate an individual to make healthcare or financial decisions for them if they become incapacitated.
  2. Wills and Codicils (14%) – Network Attorneys can review or draft wills for members. Coverage also includes codicils, which are amendments to a will that can replace or alter it.
  3. Living Wills (12%) – Members can contact a Network Attorney to draft a living will to inform health care providers about their preferred medical treatment.
  4. Trusts (7%) – Network Attorneys can prepare revocable or irrevocable trusts for members. A revocable trust is one that can be altered, while an irrevocable trust can’t be modified without the beneficiary’s approval.
  5. Deeds (6%) – Members can contact an attorney to draft a deed that can convey or transfer property rights.

These matters are all fully covered for members that use the legal plan, with no copays or deductibles. Members can find attorneys by calling our Client Service Center or visiting us online or via our mobile app. Members also have the option to use attorneys outside of our network and be reimbursed based on a set fee reimbursement schedule.
